The "Make Me Money" Affiliate Programs - What Two Companies I Don't Like

The (what I call) “Make Me Money” Affiliate Programs – there are a lot of them out there that are good but I do know of two main affiliate programs that just don’t make my list, and this is my own opinion.  I’m pretty decent at internet marketing and I wouldn’t call myself an expert (yet) since I do this part-time and have a full time job.  So you professionals that are reading this, please send me an e-mail from your viewpoint and experience.

The first affiliate program is Amazon.  Yes – this is a great company.  You can buy solid products and they are a very honest company to deal with if you are a customer.  However, if you’re an affiliate with them, I’m sorry – but only getting paid 7% for each sale, I consider it pretty low.  There are a lot of affiliate programs out there that pay out a lot more and I would rather work for them than Amazon.

Another reason about why I personally don’t like Amazon is that for about each product that is sold by Amazon, you have to compete with it in the broad (or competitive) niches.  Guess who comes out ahead in every important niche?  It’s a wonder that they really need an affiliate program at all.  I just hate competing in the SERPs against a major company which forces me into a less competitive niche with a lot less traffic.  However, I do like the affiliate link that you can utilize when your on Twitter – at least  you don’t have to compete against Amazon in your own network of followers.

The second affiliate program that I’m not a fan of is Clickbank.  Don’t get me wrong, I love their payouts – I believe they go up to 75%.  However, there is a lot of junk e-books  that they promote.   These things seem like they are from the Saturday morning infomercials – just very phony.  Then what really burns me up is the websites that sell the e-books.  One word that can describe these sites – CHEEZY.  Just about every website looks the same and is very, very long.  It’s like – “Get to the point already!”.  However, there are a few good e-books on Clickbank and if you haven’t been an affiliate with them as of yet, then I would buy a couple products and try it out.  I personally wouldn’t throw Clickbank out but be very careful when your trying to promote their products.

I know there are some people that make very good money with Amazon or Clickbank.  I would say if it works for you, then that’s great.  However, the vast majority that I’ve read on affiliate marketing forums, really don’t like these programs and in turn, don’t make much money.
